Daniel Marsden

Daniel Marsden was born and raised in Germany by a single mother and an older sister. At sixteen he moved to the United States on his own to pursue his basketball ambitions. After two seasons of high school basketball followed by five years at the college level, Daniel returned to Germany. Here he spent one season in the 2BBL, Germany’s second highest level of play where a serious knee injury ended his professional career before it had a chance to take flight. Struggling to accept that reality, Dan spent the following six years fighting to get back into playing. Apart from another invite to a tryout in Germany and a month-long Athletes in Action Tour in Canada, nothing transpired. Through this very difficult process Dan became aware of his true God given calling, which is to help marginalized, exploited people. In 2012 he accepted a position as youth and associate pastor at a church in New Albany, Indiana.

Approximately a year and a half later, he founded Redeem The Dream, Inc. A youth outreach organization that stood in the gap for marginalized teens and helped them realize their own potential from 2013 to 2019. Dan currently serves as a sworn member of the Louisville Metro Police Department. Due to his lived experience as well as the horrors that his wife, Ariane, endured as a teenager, his passion is to fight human trafficking. Dan earned a BS in Counseling Psychology and Bible Theology from William Jessup University, completed several graduate courses in Organizational Leadership at Mid America Christian University and completed a three-year ordination process with the Church of God, Anderson.

Dan and Ariane have been married since December of 2012. Together they get to raise four beautiful children.
